Safety locking gas springs

A safety locking gas spring is a version of the standard gas spring with a half-tube assembled to the piston rod. This half-tube ensures safety if the gas spring malfunctions.

The half-tube covers the whole stroke length of the piston rod and when the gas spring is in a fully extended position, this half-tube tilts by a mechanical spring. In this position the gas spring cannot be compressed, so the protection tube prevents the malfunctioning gas spring from causing any damage or accident.

To compress the gas spring, the half-tube must be moved into its normal position manually.
